Queensland Business Sentiment, Employment Trends and What the Payroll Tax Reforms Mean for You
Marcus is currently Chief Economist at Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland based in Brisbane and works as an Adjunct Lecturer of Finance at James Cook University. He is the principal of CCIQ’s Data Analytics site and analyst of the Pulse survey of Queensland business sentiment, publishing evidence-based articles relating to Queensland regional studies of employment, economic conditions and development, as well as state and national trade.
Amongst other business insights, he'll share an overview of the current economic climate in Queensland, and what business can expect over the next 12 months.
Marcus held previous roles as a Senior Economist at Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries on projects of the Reef Plan initiative focused upon evaluating the adoption of best management practices within the Queensland sugar industry. He also worked as a consultant providing economic advice contributing to the development of the 2016 Burdekin Water Quality Improvement plan. Marcus holds a PhD in economics from Griffith University and his research derived an innovative working asset valuation model within the real options methodology to evaluate investments in renewable and natural resource assets under uncertainty.
